Sharon, my wife is working on a quilt for Blake our youngest grandchild. We are traveling back to see the family shortly and Sharon is busy at work putting her original pattern together. Tonight she asked me to take a picture of the work in progress and instead I made a video. This is my first draft. More editing to come.
In part two of my Flickr tutorial I show how to batch upload and how to create a group so you can create a social network of your pictures.
I’m very excited about a new venture in Cuenca. This is a win-win opportunity. I discovered a very talented Ecuadorian artist from Otavalo who lives in Cuenca. Over the past year, as I visit his tiny shop, I realized it would be great to have a one-of-a-kind case or bag for my Ipad and MacBook Air made by this artisan’s family in Otavalo
I am now working with this craftsman to design custom cases for Ipads, PC’s and Iphones. Each case will have safety padding and pockets for accessories. You can get a sneek preview at the Cuenca IPad Users Group Meeting on May 10 at 11 am. IPad User’s Group meets at Edificio Vista Al Rio, #102, Primero de Mayo y Carlos Quinto
More pictures and prices coming shortly.
I use Flickr to store, edit and organize my photos. The video below is part one of how to navigate Flickr.
Attention all Geeks! Ok, you don’t have to be a geek to be interested in The Cloud. Are you old enough to remember the Dustin Hoffman movie “The Graduate”? Dustin was told the future was “Plastics”. Well I’m telling you in Cuenca, Ecuador on April 30, 2012 that the future is “The Cloud”.
Look at your email address. It’s probably “gmail, yahoo, hotmail or a similar cloud service. My music is in the Icloud, my photos are in the Flickr cloud and my videos are on Skydrive the Microsoft Cloud. What does this mean? It means when I travel back to the U.S. I don’t need my computer to send email, work on documents or show my family and friends the latest photos or videos of Cuenca.
How much storage do you need and what does it cost. The amount of storage depends on how much data you want immediately available. My estimate is that I have close to 100 gb of totally free storage.
Google Drive and Sky Drive are discussed in the video below:
